Massage Therapy Degree Online
The number and range of online degrees are increasing daily. There are some professions, however, that will always seem to be beyond the remit of virtual learning. Massage therapy uses touch and manipulation to help heal, rehabilitate and reduce stress. So how can you undertake massage therapy training online?
Thirty five state in the US now require the regulation of massage therapists. There are, however, still many professional massage therapists who have learned massage skills without formal accreditation. One of the benefits of online massage therapy degrees and other online massage therapy training is to allow practicing massage therapists to formalize and validate their skills if they have not done so already.
Also, it may surprise you to know that you can learn a great deal of what you need to become a certified massage therapist via online massage therapy training. Learning massage therapy involves a good deal of old fashioned study of human anatomy, physiology, psychology and nutrition. While many massage therapists have both the instinctive ability and desire to help people by touch, online massage therapy training is an excellent way to learn why and how this is possible.
Like most online degrees, you will need to back up your online massage therapy training with practical experience in your current workplace, or through voluntary work. Whether online or traditional, your massage therapy degree will need to be followed by an accreditation exam. Organizations such as the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) can help you find online massage therapy schools.
